Need to find out what happens if someone is stopped for driving your car without license or insurance? A friend of mine took my car keys and drove my car without my knowledge. They got pulled over by the police and revealed they had no licence or insurance. They have been given 7 days to produce the valid documents which obviously they cannot do. They will get a fine/points but will this affect me? Will I get any penalty/points or is this purely their responsibility/problem? The police contacted me to ask whether the friend had stolen it, to which I said no. I said they'd taken it but that I'd left it on their driveway with my keys at their house as I'd had to rush out. Does this affect me negatively. Many thanks for the advice. (Only UK law please).

So a friend of mine is letting me borrow his car for three months. now the problem is insurance. We dont know what to do. Health and Auto Insurance question?

I am nineteen years old and I need insurance. I was kicked off my families insurance plan just because I'm not going to school full-time. I'm working and going to school. What do I do? It's really bugging me to be without insurance. I need to work, though. Are there student insurance plans or anything like that?

Staying on parents health insurance in NJ?

As the title states, I am wondering if I am eligible to stay on my parent's health insurance (we live in New Jersey and my dad gets the family insurance through his job in Delaware). I am 23 years old, not in school, and my job offers health insurance. I have read that the law allows children under the age of 27 to remain on their parent's health insurance UNLESS the kid's job offers health insurance. As I stated, mine does offer it. HOWEVER, an older coworker of mine told me that her children were able to stay on the family health insurance until age 27 even though the kids' work offered insurance because the cost of the insurance at the child's job was over $25 per week. The cheapest policy at my job will cost me just over $30 per week. Unfortunately, I have not found any trace of this $25 rule anywhere online. Is this a true policy? If insurance isn't offered cheaply enough, can I stay on my parent's policy? Can anyone shed some light on this?

What raises car insurance premiums?

I accidently dented my roomies car with a scratch as well. I was told by a good friend since the car was parked if she took out a claim on it and she didn t list anyone who s at fault (in other words she doesn t know) that her insurance would pay for it. First is that true and if so, would that raise her rates? She told me it would raise her rates. Also she said all it needed was to be buffed, how much do those usually cost? She has a 2007 or 08 Saturn VUE. Because if the buff isn t that much it might not be worth it to challenge her. But there is a possibility the damage might be more then a buff can handle.

Insured car, uninsured teen driver?

Hi, I am 17 and just obtained my drivers license, I am not on the insurance policy for the family cars. I heard somewhere that insurance follows the car and not the driver and that even if i wasn't on the insurance policy but had permission from the owner to drive the car that any accident would be covered by the owners insurance policy? Is this information valid? And to what extent? Thanks!

Temporary auto insurance for move?

I'll be moving to Oakland California from Phoenix Arizona and I was wondering if there is such a thing as temporary auto insurance. My vehicle is not currently insured, but I can get a temporary registration from AZ DMV. That would allow me to drive my car for my move. I will be pulling a small utility trailer. I don't want to get a full 6 month insurance policy because as soon as I get to Oakland, I won't be driving the car at all. Are there any insurance companies that offer a really short policy (2 days, or maybe a week) ? I only need insurance for those two days, and so that I can get temporary registration from the DMV. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, and if so what company?

I have a tricky question that I really need an answer to. I just got back from the hospital. I was working on my garage this evening and I had a terrible accident. I was ripping a piece of ply wood with my table saw and I ended up cutting my middle finger on my left hand off. I have heard that in some instances life insurance pays out.
